What is Sustainability?

There are several reasons to be confused by the term sustainability. It’s a long word with a variety of historical applications from organizational continuity to environmental activism. We’ve wrestled with whether it is the right word, and have decided it works because we use it in a broad context that includes both social and environment action.

Sustainability: The state where decisions and actions on an individual, social, and environmental scale are free of negative consequences and create ongoing positive impact.
To explain and understand this further, we’ve grouped our sustainability model into three big areas: Identity, Society, and Environment. Read more below as we dive into the themes and details of how to make all this theory a reality.
