We will honor the work and achievements of NY-based anti-fracking activists Natalie Merchant (Singer-songwriter) and Adelaide Gomer (President, Park Foundation Board of Trustees) and recognize the on-the-ground work of Women Champions from frontline communities in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri.
6:30 PM Cocktail Reception
7:30 PM Introduction by Lois Gibbs and Honoree Remarks
8:00 PM Stories from Flint and St. Louis
Proceeds from the event will generate critical support that enables CHEJ to respond quickly to the environmental threats impacting children and families in underrepresented communities across the nation.
About CHEJ: For over 35 years, under the leadership of Lois Gibbs, CHEJ has been mentoring a movement and empowering people to prevent harm to human health caused by exposure to hazardous environmental conditions. Through training, coalition building and one-on-one technical and organizing assistance, CHEJ works to level the playing field so that people can have a say in the environmental policies and decisions that affect their health and well-being. By organizing one school, one neighborhood, one community at a time, CHEJ is making the world cleaner and healthier for all of us.
