Earth Gay Seattle Special Guests

11 Apr 2012 / 1 Comment / in Earth Gay/by admin

Earth Gay Seattle has been honored by some pretty special guests in the past, and this year is no different. While other may join, we have confirmed with these strong elected officials for them to stop by and cheer us on.

Seattle Mayor, Mike McGinn

Mike is a noted environmentalist and LGBTQ ally, and a longtime friend of OUT4S, from his campaign days when we marched next to each other in the 2009 Seattle Pride Parade. This will be his third visit to Earth Gay!

Seattle City Council President, Sally Clark

Sally is an openly gay advocate for sustainability in her role as City Council President in Seattle. She was a guest at the 2011 Earth Gay in Seattle, and was our featured speaker at the 2011 Coming Out Local.

State Senator, Ed Murray

Ed is an openly gay hero noted for his role in bringing marriage equality to Washington State. While this is his first appearance with OUT4S, we are certain it won’t be his last.

State Representative, Marko Liias

Marko is an openly gay environmental advocate representing Snohomish County, bridging communities in a way few in this state have been able to do. This is his first OUT4S event, and we’re so excited by his enthusiasm.

Seattle City Councilmember, Mike O’Brien*

Mike is a noted straight ally and environmental advocate. His role on the City Council in Seattle has earned him a place in our hearts as one of Seattle’s great citizens. We’re honored to have him join us for his second Earth Gay.

*Councilmember O’Brien regrets he will not be able to attend.

Join them and potentially hundreds of volunteers in restoring the northwest corner of Lake Union on April 22nd. Register at earthgay2012.eventbrite.com.
