Earth Gay Seattle 2017 Recap

Home / Earth Gay / Earth Gay Seattle 2017 Recap

The ninth annual Earth Gay Seattle this past Saturday was a huge success! OUT for Sustainability and Out There Adventures partnered to bring over 70 LGBTQ sustainability advocates to Seattle’s beautiful Arboretum in the heart of the city to continue work on a project that got its start at Earth Gay Seattle in 2016. Volunteers worked with Seattle Parks’ Youth Green Corps crew leaders to build a new trail bed and clear invasive species from a section of the park that is scheduled to open later this year. Among the OUT for Sustainability and Out There Adventures’ volunteers, we had members of Boeing’s LGBTQ group for the eighth consecutive year, a new group of volunteers from Apple, and the Emerald City GlamCocks that all went above and beyond to organize and do great work at the event. Thank you to Pride Foundation and Whole Foods for their generous donations that made the event possible.
