board-retreat-2016-300x225OUT for Sustainability (OUT4S) Board members determine and support the strategic direction of the organization, including maintaining its functional and financial stability. Board members are charged to make certain that the organization stays true to its mission and vision. Board members are sought to reflect a variety of skills, perspectives and experiences to strengthen the organization through diversity.

Applications are being accepted for a start of January 1st, 2017 at the winter strategy retreat in the woods near Seattle, Washington. The retreat runs from the evening of Friday, January 20th through Noon on Sunday the 22nd, 2017. Lodging is provided through the organization at a lovely home, with members responsible for their individual travel plans. During the retreat we cook for each other, splitting costs, respecting with dietary preferences and building great bonding moments in the process of sharing meals.

Responsibilities Summary

Term and Time:

  • Two years, currently no term limits
  • Estimated 15 hours per month

Retreats and Meetings:

  • Two retreats per year (Fri-Sun)
  • Four calls per year (two hours)

Communications:

  • @out4s.org email during your term
  • Respond to email within three days

Participation:

  • Active member of one+ committee
  • Attend Fab Planet and local events
